ASAAP is committed to providing culturally responsive holistic health promotion and support services for SAMEIC (South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Indo-Caribbean) communities who are living with, at risk of, or affected by HIV and related health conditions. Their vision is of a world where communities of SAMEIC (South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Indo-Caribbean) heritage come together to determine their health and well-being free from stigma and discrimination.
Community-Based Research Centre (CBRC) promotes the health of people of diverse sexualities and genders through research and intervention development. Their core pillars are community-led research, knowledge exchange, network building, and leadership development - position the organization as a thought leader, transforming ideas into actions that make a difference in our communities.
This study will be using data from CBRC’s Sex Now survey, which is Canada’s largest and longest running survey of GBT2Q men’s health. Sex Now has become an essential source of data on the health and well-being of GBT2Q in Canada, and is widely used by community, public health, research, and policy stakeholders.
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is Canada's federal funding agency for health research. Composed of 13 Institutes, we collaborate with partners and researchers to support the discoveries and innovations that improve our health and strengthen our health care system.
The Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies offers an undergraduate program, a collaborative graduate specialization (MA and PhD), hosts academic and community events, and supports research in queer, trans, and sexuality studies. Our aim is to forge connections among faculty, undergraduates, graduate students, and community members committed to critical dialogue exploring the social, political, historical, and institutional structures affecting 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC lives and communities.
The Queer and Trans Research Lab is a collaborative research project based at The Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies, University of Toronto, focusing on methods in queer and trans studies across the disciplines as well as across creative, activist, and scholarly research practices. Our aim is to bring innovative approaches and solutions to entrenched and emerging social and political problems affecting 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC lives and communities.
